Archbishop Hilarion visits Russian Diplomatic Mission in Geneva
On 15 December 2009, Archbishop Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for external church relations, staying in Geneva as head of the Russian Orthodox Church delegation at the meeting of the Inter-Orthodox preparatory commission, visited the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations office and other international institutions in Geneva.
Archbishop Hilarion and members of the delegation had a talk with the permanent Russian representative Ambassador Valery Loshcinin. They discussed cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the dialogue with world community on the meaning of traditional values in the life of the people and the problems of social morals and spiritual component in international relations. The participants in the talk exchanged their opinion of various aspects of international cooperation.
Taking part in the talk were also Archbishop Mark of Berlin, Germany and Great Britain and Bishop Michael of Geneva and Western Europe (Russian Church Abroad), archpriest Nikolai Balashov, deputy chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations, deputy representative of the Russian Federation V. Nebenzya, and DECR staff member A. Churyakov.
