The Estonian version of the late Patriarch Alexy’s book ‘Orthodoxy in Estonia’ to be presented in Tallinn

The Estonian version of the late Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All Russia’s book entitled ‘Orthodoxy in Estonia’ is to be presented on December 11, 2009, at the Russian Culture Center in Tallinn.

The book is based on the Candidate’s dissertation ‘Esseys on the History of Orthodoxy in Estonia’ defended by the then Metropolitan Alexy of Tallinn in 1984 at the Leningrad Theological Academy, the news service of the Russian World foundation has reported.

Supplemented and reviewed by the author himself in 1999, this academic work was published with the title of ‘Orthodoxy in Estonia’. It is a fundamental work highlighting not only the development of Orthodoxy in Estonia but also dealing with a wide range of issues concerning the propagation of Christianity in the Baltic States.
