Metropolitan Hilarion meets with Bishop Joseph Werth

On 13 January 2020, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), met with the Ordinary of the Catholic Diocese of the Transfiguration in Novosibirsk, Bishop Joseph Werth, at the parish house of the church of Our Lady the Joy of All the Afflicted.

Participating in the meeting were also Archbishop Celestino Migliore, Apostolic Nuncio to Russia, and Rev. Alexiy Dikarev, DECR staff member.

Metropolitan Hilarion welcomed the guests extending to them the Nativity and New Year greetings. During their talk, they discussed the present state of Orthodox-Catholic relations in the territory of Russia and issues of mutual concern.
