DECR chairman meets with newly-appointed Ambassador of Russian Federation to Republic of Korea

On 20 January 2015, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with H.E. Mr. Alexander Timonin, newly-appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Korea. Taking part in the meeting, which was held at the DECR, was also Mr. Dmitry Petrovsky, a staff member of the DECR Secretariat for Inter-Orthodox Relations.

The participants in the meeting discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including the situation of Orthodoxy on the Korean peninsula.
