Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad officiated celebrations in Paris on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Church of Three Hierarchs

On 12 February 2006, on the Feast of the Synaxix of the Ecumenical Teachers and Hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom, Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad officiated the Divine Liturgy at the church of the Three Hierarchs in Paris tat celebrated its 75 anniversary.

Among Metropolitan Kirill’s concelebrants were: Metropolitan Joseph of Western Europe and Mediterranean (Patriarchate of Romania), Archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany, Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium, Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun, Archbishop Mark of Khabarovsk and Amur, Bishop Gury of Magadan, Bishop Basil of Sergievo, Bishop Phillip of Poltava and Kremenchug, Bishop Hilarion of Vienna and Austria, Bishop Ambrosy of Prokopievo.

Participating were numerous clergymen of the Diocese of Korsun and other Dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church. Metropolitan Emmanuel of Gaul, Patriarchate of Constantinople prayed in the altar.

After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Kirill read out the greeting message of Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All Russia to clergymen and believers of the Diocese and addressed concelebrating archpastors, clergymen, parishioners and guests.

Metropolitan Kirill with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, handed to Archbishop Innokenty, ruling archpastor of the Diocese of Korsun, an order of St. Innokenty, Metropolitan of Moscow and Kolomna (II class).

A festive reception was given after the Divine Liturgy. Metropolitan Kirill answered the questions of the reporters who cover his visit to France.

In the evening, Metropolitan Kirill met with clergymen and laymen who had come to Paris to participate in jubilee celebrations that were continued in the Cathedral of Notre Damme De Paris with the concert of the choir from the Moscow Sretensky Monastery.
