The theme of the meeting is \u201cCrisis of Values \u2013 Myth or Reality? Christian Values in Modern Society.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany and Dr. Gerhard Feige, Bishop of Magdeburg, greeted the participants in the first session. Discussed during the first session were, among other things, socialogical aspects pertaining to the theme of the 8<sup>th<\/sup> theological talks.<\/p>\n<p>The participants will also discuss ethical and ecclesiological aspects of the problem of crisis of values in modern society. Within the framework of the theological talks, members of the delegations will meet with the Minister-President of the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt, as well as with <em>Ilse Junkermann, Bishop<\/em> of the <em>Evangelical Church<\/em><i> <\/i>in Central Germany.<\/p>\n<p>The 8<sup>th<\/sup> theological talks between the Russian Orthodox Church and the German Bishops\u2019 Conference will last till October 10; a joint communiqu\u00e9 will be adopted on its results.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 7 October 2013, the 8th theological talks between the Russian Orthodox Church and the German Bishops\u2019 Conference (Roman Catholic Church) began in Magdeburg (Germany).
