\"\"<\/a>On 8 May 2012, the first joint meeting of the Bishops\u2019 Conference of Switzerland (Roman Catholic Church) and the Assembly of Orthodox Bishops in Switzerland (OBAS) took place in Fribourg.<\/p>\n

This meeting is a milestone event in the dialogue between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches in the territory of the Swiss Confederation. The Orthodox and Catholic hierarchs used the opportunity to share their opinions on topical problems and to develop constructive relations.<\/p>\n

Among the participants in the meeting were Bishop Nestor of Korsun, administrator of the Russian Orthodox Church\u2019s\u00a0 parishes in Switzerland, and Archbishop Michael of Geneva and Western Europe (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia), website of the Korsun diocese reports.<\/p>\n

After the meeting, Archbishop Antonio Mennini, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Great Britain and the former Apostolic Nuncio to the Russian Federation, was presented with the high \u201cSilver Rose of St Nicholas\u201d award for the contribution to ecclesial communion.<\/p>\n
