This year the participants discussed the theme \u2018New and Renewed Strategies for the Ecumenical Mission\u2019. The discussion on this theme was planned to coincide with the Centenary of the World Missionary Conference which took place in Edinburg in 1910. The conference was attended by representatives of Orthodox, Catholic, Anglican and Protestant traditions in the USA and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Hegumen Philip Riabykh, vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate\u2019s department for external church relations, took part in the conference on the invitation of its organizers. He read a paper on the Russian Orthodox Church and Inter-Christian Dialogue and answered questions from participants.<\/p>\n<p>While in Montreal, Hegumen Philip was invited to speak on Quebec\u2019s Christian radio \u2018Ville Marie\u2019. In an interview with a presenter of the Voice of Orthodoxy and Dialogue programs, he spoke about today\u2019s life of the Russian Orthodox and its role in the life of post-Soviet society, its contacts with Christian confessions and participation in interreligious dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>On September 26, Hegumen Philip assisted Bishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada (Russian Church Outside Russia) in celebrating the Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas\u2019s and after the liturgy delivered a sermon on the significance of the Lord Jesus Christ\u2019s sacrifice on the Cross, as well as the road of the cross that the Russian Church and the Russian people had to pass in the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>DECR Communication Service<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This year the participants discussed the theme \u2018New and Renewed Strategies for the Ecumenical Mission\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[16,10,1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/26941"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/10"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=26941"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/26941\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=26941"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=26941"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=26941"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
