On this day, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Trinity Cathedral of the St. Alexander Nevsky Laura in St. Petersburg by Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna, who was assisted by a host of bishops and priests.<\/p>\n<p>Among the worshippers were all the students of St. Petersburg Theological Schools.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the congregation, Metropolitan Juvenaly said in particular that Metropolitan Nikodim was an example of how the most important commandments of Christ \u2013 the love of God and the neighbour, should be lived up. \u2018In the light of the Gospel we read during the liturgy, I would like to remind you that His Eminence Nikodim truly loved God and his neighbours with all his heart\u201d, he said, adding that the life of Metropolitan Nikodim has left an indelible mark in the history of the Church and, most importantly, in people\u2019s hearts.<\/p>\n<p>The liturgy was followed by a requiem service for Metropolitan Nikodim.
