Included in this list, along with historic Catholic churches and cathedrals, is an Orthodox church of modern design &#8211; the Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene Equal-to-the-Apostles, the cathedral church of the Russian Orthodox Church\u2019s diocese of Spain-Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the Russian church, the list includes the 18th century royal <em>Real<\/em> <em>Bas\u00edlica<\/em> <em>de\u00a0San Francisco el Grande<\/em>, the 14<sup>th<\/sup> century Monastery of <em>San Jer\u00f3nimo de Cotalba, <\/em>the <em>San Gin\u00e9s <\/em>church built in the 17<sup>th<\/sup> century, the 17<sup>th<\/sup> century church of <em>San Antonio de los Alemanes<\/em>, and the 18<sup>th<\/sup> century museum-church of <em>San Antonio\u00a0de la\u00a0Florida<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018In Madrid, there are about one hundred churches and parishes, each remarkable in its own way. We have chosen six the most beautiful churches truly adorning the city, which must be visited\u2019, the website of <em>El Mundo <\/em>reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The five cupolas crowning the Russian Orthodox church attracts the attention of everyone who is strolling along <em>Gran V\u00eda de Hortaleza <\/em>(the street in which the cathedral is located &#8211; <em>ed.<\/em>).
