{"id":172324,"date":"2019-04-05T11:38:01","date_gmt":"2019-04-05T08:38:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mospat.ru\/?p=172324"},"modified":"2019-04-08T18:05:12","modified_gmt":"2019-04-08T15:05:12","slug":"%d0%bf%d0%be%d0%bb%d1%8c%d1%81%d0%ba%d0%b0%d1%8f-%d0%bf%d1%80%d0%b0%d0%b2%d0%be%d1%81%d0%bb%d0%b0%d0%b2%d0%bd%d0%b0%d1%8f-%d1%86%d0%b5%d1%80%d0%ba%d0%be%d0%b2%d1%8c-%d0%b0%d0%b2%d1%82%d0%be%d0%ba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/2019\/04\/05\/news172324\/","title":{"rendered":"Polish Orthodox Church: Autocephaly in Ukraine cannot be granted to a group of schismatics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The Bishops\u2019 Council of the Polish Orthodox Church published on its official site on April 2, 2019, a Statement on <\/em><em>\u201c<\/em><em>the Ukrainian problem\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Holy Bishops&#8217; Council of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church got acquainted with the correspondence on autocephaly in Ukraine, which was obtained from: Constantinople, Alexandria, Russia, Serbia, Romania, Albania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, the UN Human Rights Council and letters by groups of believers of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church,\u201d the Council\u2019s Statement says.<\/p>\n<p>The Bishops\u2019 Council stated that the Polish Orthodox Church reaffirms its position on the church situation in Ukraine, which was expressed in Resolutions of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/spzh.news\/en\/news\/53425-sinod-polyskoj-pravoslavnoj-cerkvi-vystupil-s-podderzhkoj-upc\">May 9, 2018, <\/a>and of<a href=\"https:\/\/spzh.news\/en\/news\/57585-polyskaja-cerkovy-otkazalasy-priznavaty-vosstanovlenije-filareta-i-makarija\">\u00a0November 15, 2018. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa, the Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church, on behalf of the Bishops\u2019 Council, stated that his Church has advocated\u00a0\u201cgranting full independence \u2013 autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine\u201d, meaning under the term \u201cOrthodox Church in Ukraine\u201d the form of the administrative order of the canonical Church, not the \u201cOCU\u201d religious group newly created with the help of the Phanar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe autocephaly of the Church in Ukraine should be based on\u00a0the dogmatic and canonical norms of the whole Church, not those of a group of schismatics. Those who stepped outside the Church, being deprived of priestly ordination at that, cannot represent a healthy church organism. This is a non-canonical act that violates Eucharistic and inter-Orthodox unity,\u201d the Statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>The document also stated that the Polish Orthodox Church cooperates with other Local Churches in order to regulate the church life in Ukraine.
