{"id":165939,"date":"2018-10-31T17:49:05","date_gmt":"2018-10-31T14:49:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mospat.ru\/?p=165939"},"modified":"2018-11-29T10:17:39","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T07:17:39","slug":"%d0%bd%d0%b0-%d1%84%d0%b5%d1%81%d1%82%d0%b8%d0%b2%d0%b0%d0%bb%d0%b5-%d0%b2%d0%b5%d1%80%d0%b0-%d0%b8-%d1%81%d0%bb%d0%be%d0%b2%d0%be-%d0%bf%d1%80%d0%be%d1%88%d0%bb%d0%b0-%d0%b2%d1%81%d1%82","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.mospat.ru\/en\/2018\/10\/31\/news165939\/","title":{"rendered":"Situation in Ukraine is discussed at \u201cFaith and Word\u201d festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 31 October 2018, the Ukrainian church problem and a threat of the \u201cone local Orthodox Church\u201d the creation of which is being imposed by the Ukrainian authorities, was discussed in the framework of the \u2018Faith and Word\u201d international festival of Orthodox media.<\/p>\n<p>Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, secretary for inter-Orthodox relations of the Moscow Patriarchate\u2019s Department for External Church Relations, and Protodeacon Alexander Karpenko, editor-in-chief of the \u201cFoma in Ukraine\u201d magazine, acted as speakers, the Synodal department for Church\u2019s Relations with Society and Mass Media reports.<\/p>\n<p>Fr Igor noted that the situation in Ukraine is complex, the Kievan authorities do not hide their intention to transfer church buildings and other church property of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the so called \u2018one local Orthodox Church\u2019 that will be comprised of the noncanonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC). The Ukrainian Church remains calm even in this complicated situation looking up to its Primate \u2013 His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Protodeacon Alexander added that relationships among the noncanonical groups remain conflict-ridden. Representatives of the so called Kiev Patriarchate disregard the UAOC interests.
