Participating in the talk were also Mr. A. Giorgini, second counselor of the French Embassy in Russia, and Mr. Matiyashin of the DECR secretariat for the far-abroad countries.<\/p>\n<p>The visiting delegation showed a special interest in relations between the Russian Orthodox and the Roman Catholic Churches in the canonical territory of the Moscow Patriarchate and in international arena.<\/p>\n<p>Father Philip informed Mr. Poupard about the present international activity of the Moscow Patriarchate, with special attention to prospects for inter-cultural dialogue in Europe and in UNESCO.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Poupard stressed the importance of religions\u2019 active involvement in building peaceful co-existence and cooperation between various faiths and nationalities.
