The text of the message is given below.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Your Excellency, dear Mr. Lee,<\/p>\n<p>I was grieved to learn about the demise of your father, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew \u2013 the man who created the modern Singapore and was its leader for many years and true father of the nation, a gifted politician and a person of many talents and wide interests.<\/p>\n<p>Please accept my sincere condolences which I offer to you and to all people of Singapore over this bereavement.
