Holy Synod of Ukrainian Orthodox Church meets in Kiev
On 25 April 2013, the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held its regular session at the Synodal Hall of the Holy Assumption Laura of the Caves in Kiev. The meeting was chaired by His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine.
The Holy Synod took a decision to publish the Message to Bishops, Clergymen, Monastics, and Laymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the occasion of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia.
It was resolved to send an invitation to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia for the celebrations of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia and to request His Holiness to extend invitations to the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches.
Members of the Holy Synod expressed their gratitude to His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, who had visited Ukraine on 23-25 April 2013, for taking part in the interreligious conference.
The Holy Synod approved the liturgical veneration of several local saints and shrines of the dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The Synod also made a number of decisions concerning the life of monasteries and dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
