ORTHODOX REQUIEM SERVICE FOR THE VICTIMS AND A THANKSGIVING FOR THE RESCUED HOSTAGES CONDUCTED IN THE RECONSTRUCTED DUBROVKA THEATRE

On 25 January 2003, the reconstructed Dubrovka theatre in Moscow was handed over to the “Nord-Ost” musical cast.

After the ceremony, Archimandrite Mark (Golovkov), DECR vice-chairman, conducted a requiem service for the killed hostages and a thanksgiving for the rescue of hundreds of innocent people from mortal danger.

Taking part in the services were the clergymen who provided spiritual support to families and relatives of the hostages during the tragic events of last October – DECR staff members Rev. Alexander Abramov and Deacon Mikhail Prokopenko, Moscow clergymen Pavel Burov and Deacon Alexander Shumsky.
