The Orthodox Church of Cyprus condemns actions of the Vatican in Russia

THE ORTHODOX CHURCH OF CYPRUS CONDEMNS ACTIONS OF THE VATICAN IN RUSSIA

His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos of New Justiniana and All Cyprus in his message to His Holiness Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All Russia expressed his solidarity with the Moscow Patriarchate on the one-sided decision of the Roman Catholic Church to transform catholic administrative structures in Russia into ‘a church province’ headed by a metropolitan.

It is said in the message that the Orthodox Church of Cyprus regrets these actions of the Vatican and resolutely condemns them. His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos assured His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of his full support of the position of the Russian Orthodox Church on the question.
