Moscow regional units of the Russian Orthodox Church reregistered

MOSCOW REGIONAL UNITS OF THE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH REREGISTERED

The Moscow diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church has completed the legal re-registration of all its structural units in the Moscow Region that had functioned before the new Law on the Freedom of Conscience and on Religious Associations was adopted.

New legal documents have been obtained by 732 parishes, 17 monasteries, 3 church representations, one brotherhood and one seminary, in total 756 religious organizations.

In this period, the formation of new parishes and monasteries has continued, and registration has been given to 131 parishes and 2 monasteries.

Thus, at present Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna, with the blessing of Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, directs 887 officially registered units of the Moscow diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
