The Tver diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church has urged the guests of the Nashestvie (Invasion) rock festival to take place on August 5-7 at the Emmaus village near Tver to keep peace and order.

‘You are staying in the old land of Tver. Its inhabitants have always been distinguished for their generosity and hospitality. However, the laws of hospitality require that guests behave as well. In any situations it is necessary to keep human dignity’, Archbishop Victor of Tver and Kashin urges in his appeal.

‘Let there be more abstention, even simple soberness among those who are coming over. May the festival days be not clouded with lawless escapades’, the Diocese of Tver appeals.

Earlier, similar appeals to the guest of the festival were made by the regional authorities and the Tver Interior Directorate. As the rock festival territory has been considerably broadened this year and about 100 thousand rock music fans are expected to come, security measures have been considerably reinforced in the region.
