Proceedings No. 93

At its session on December 6, 2008, chaired by Patriarchal Locum Tenens Kirill, Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, the Holy Synod considered the establishment of a commission for arranging and conducting the funeral of the deceased Patriarch ALEXY.

Resolved:

1) that a Commission for Arranging and Conducting the Funeral of His Holiness Patriarch ALEXY be formed in the following composition:


  1. Patriarchal Locum Tenens Kirill, the Most Rev. Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad – chairman of the Commission

  2. The Most Rev. Clement, Metropolitan of Kaluga and Borovsk, chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate

  3. The Most Rev. Arseny, Archbishop of Istra, vicar of the Moscow diocese

  4. The Right. Rev. Mark, Bishop of Yegorievsk, vicar of the Moscow diocese, vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations

  5. Archpriest Mikhail Ryazantsev, sacristan of the Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour

  6. Archpriest Alexander Abramov, Moscow Patriarchate director for protocol, rector of the church of St. Martin the Confessor, Moscow

  7. Rev. Vladimir Vigilyansky, Moscow Patriarchate press service director

  8. Protodeacon Vladimir Nazarkin, Patriarchal protocol service director
