Orthodox channel ‘Spas’ to broadcast for Europe and the USA

Public Orthodox TV channel ‘Spas’ (the ‘Saviour’) is going to broadcast for Europe and the USA, general director of the channel Alexander Batanov said during the on-line conference in the Russian Information Agency ‘Novosti’ (‘News’) on 14 April 2006.

‘We plan to began broadcasting for our compatriots in Europe and the USA in the end of next year’, Batanov said. At present the channel broadcasts for Russia. ‘Potential audience of the ‘Spas’ TV channel in our country is 25 million people from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok’, Batanov underscored. He also noted that his channel uses the ‘NTV Plus’ satellite. Its signal is received in Europe, as phone calls to the studio show.
