The foundation to a church dedicated to Our Lady of Kazan laid down in Kostroma

Archbishop Alexander of Kostroma and Galich blessed the foundation stone of a church to be dedicated to Our Lady of Kazan and the reverence cross erected at the construction site a month ago in Constitution Square in Kostroma.

Before the 1917 Revolution, there was a church of the Nativity of the Mother of God near the construction site. It was destroyed together with the adjacent St. Lazarus Cemetery. The new church will be built on donations from the faithful, the Kostroma diocesan website reports.
