Orthodox priest consecrates an icebreaker in Norway

On 14 March 2006, Rev. Mikhail Seliavkin, rector of the Church of the Epiphany in the town of Bergen, Norway, consecrated a multifunctional ice-breaker called ‘Vladislav Strijov’ constructed by the Havyard Leirvik AS dockyard on demand of the ‘Sevmorneftegas’ JSC.

Participating in the launching ceremony were delegations of the Havyard Leirvik AS, Sevmorneftegas, Gasprom, Gasflot and other Russian, Norwegian and Ukrainian companies that took part in the project.

After the ceremony participants and guests were invited onboard and the icebreaker started its first road under the Russian flag.
