‘Orthodox feasts in Old Russian Art’ Exhibition opens in Tatarstan

‘Orthodox feasts in Old Russian Art of the 16th –19th centuries’ Exhibition opened in the State museum of fine arts in Tatarstan. Over 100 icons and works of arts and crafts are exhibited.

The visitors can see icons based on the Gospels events, mobile iconostasis and other works that testifies to the importance of Orthodox feasts in Russian traditional art.

Residents of Kazan who visited the opening ceremony listened to Orthodox hymns performed by ‘Transfiguration’ choir.

According to the ‘Tatinform’ Information Agency, ‘Orthodox Feasts in Old Russian Art of the 16th –19th centuries’ Exhibition will be open till March 5.
