Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica awarded by the Russian Orthodox Church

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has been honoured with a high award of the Russian Orthodox Church – the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh, 2^nd degree.

With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, the award was presented to the head of the Serbian Government by Mr. V. Alekseyev, chairman of the Public Foundation of the Unity of Orthodox Nations. As the Serbian governmental press service reported, the ceremony was also attended by the Serbian Minister for Religions Milan Radulovic.

Accepting the order, Mr. Kostunica underlined that the Russian and Serbian nations are closely bound up by history, culture and the Orthodox faith.
