December 11 is the date when antiterrorist operation in the Chechen Republic was launched.
It has been 26 years since Soviet troops entered Afghanistan and 11 years since antiterrorist operation started in Chechnya. Today, 21403 Afghanistan and Chechnya veterans live in Nizhny Novgorod Region, 737 of which are invalids of war.
Requiem service for all warriors killed in Chechnya and Afghanistan was conducted in the Cathedral of St. Alexander of Neva.
