Celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Cathedral of the Resurrection in Berlin

On June 1, the festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Cathedral of the Resurrection in the capital of Germany for the 70th anniversary of the consecration of the main church of the Berlin and Germany diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad officiated at the Divine Liturgy in concelebration with Metropolitan Seraphim of Germany and Central Europe (Romanian Orthodox Church); archbishop Mark of Berlin-Germany and the Great Britain (the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad); a vicar of the Moscow diocese and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church in Germany archbishop Longin of Klin; archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany; archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium; archbishop Innokenty if Korsun; a vicar of the Moscow diocese and administrator of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA bishop Merkury of Zaraisk; a vicar of the Berlin diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad bishop Agapit of Stuttgart; bishop Hilarion of Vienna and Austria, and Bishop Yelisey of Sourozh.

That same day a reception was given in the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Germany on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Cathedral of the Resurrection.
