Hymns of the Russian Orthodox Church first performed at the concert in the Portuguese Parliament

On 29 May 2008, the choir of the parish of the All Saints of the Moscow Patriarchate performed at the premises of the Parliament of the Republic of Portugal with the blessing of archbishop Innokenty of Korsun. The deputies listened to the Paschal hymns in Znamenny chant and the ecclesiastical pieces of the Orthodox composers of the 19th century.

After the concert the President of the Parliament Jaime Gama cordially thanked the rector of the parish of All Saints hieromonk Arseny (Sokolov), the leader of the choir Igor Karatayev, the conductor Larisa Savchenko and all the choristers for the first in the history of the Parliament of Portugal concert of the Orthodox church hymns thanks to which the representatives of the legislative power had a unique opportunity to be introduced to the treasure of the Russian ecclesiastical music.
