The primate of the Russian Orthodox Church lifts up prayers for the late Metropolitan Laurus

On March 17, 2008, the Commemoration Day of the Holy Prince Daniel of Moscow, Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia with an assembly of bishops as his concelebrants celebrates the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at the Trinity Cathedral in St. Daniel’s Monastery.

During the liturgy His Holiness lifted up a prayer for the repose of the soul of Metropolitan Laurus of Eastern America and New York, chairman of the Bishops’ Synod of the Russian Church outside Russia.

Metropolitan Laurus passed away in the Lord early in the morning on March 16, 2008, the Sunday of Orthodoxy.
