I greet the participants and guests of the 12th World Russian People’s Council which has gathered together representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, well known politicians, businessmen, workers of sciences and culture and our full of initiative youth from many regions of Russia. After many years of its fruitful activities the WRPC is recognized as an authoritative public forum that exerts an appreciable influence on the strengthening of traditional spiritual and moral values, education of the young generation and the solution of topical tasks in the social sphere in our country.

The 12th World Russian People’s Council is taking place under the motto ‘Future Generations – National Treasure of Russia.’ The participants are to discuss topical problems of the modern youth. Today Russia acutely needs people who are energetic, well educated and capable of taking impressive and interesting decisions. Both personal and vocational achievements of our young people and the future of Russia depend on the active position of the young people and their sincere wish to be of benefit to their Fatherland.

I am sure that the forum will get wide publicity, and its recommendations prepared in master classes, round tables, workshops and during discussions will be adopted in practice and serve to the good of our Fatherland.

I wish you fruitful work, success and all the best.

V. Putin
