A memorial church to be built in Minsk

‘Interfax-Religion’ reports that a memorial church is being built in Minsk with the President A. Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus and Metropolitan Filaret of Minsk and Slutsk. It is planned to rebury the remains of the Belorussian soldiers who died during the Patriotic War of 1812, the First and Second World wars and the war in Afghanistan.

An oil-lamp with the fire from the Holy Sepulchre will be placed in the crypt under the sanctuary, and vessels with soil from the places of historic battles will be put in the niches on the walls. Memorial plaques with the names of the heroes will be placed on the front of the church.
