Prayer service to celebrated in Pskov for the health of ‘Pskov’ atomic submarine

In December 17, the fourteenth anniversary of hoisting the Navy ensign at the ‘Pskov’ atomic submarine, a prayer service for the health of its crew was celebrated in the Church of St. Basil. The rector of the church Rev. Andrei Bolshanin told the Pskov News Agency that its was the first such service with a prospect to become a tradition.

That same day, members of the ‘Young Submariner’ club met with the submariners who served at ‘Pskov’ at different times and learn about its history. Members of the club who visited ‘Pskov’ in Vidyaevo, Murmansk region, shared their impressions.

The large ‘B-336’ atomic submarine was laid down in 1989, floated out in 1992, and the Navy ensign was hoisted in 1993. In 1995 it was named ‘Pskov’ by the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.
