Days of Russian church culture opening in Orhus, Denmark

The Days of Russian Church Culture are opening from December 14 to 16, at the Lutheran Sct. Lukas Kirke in Orhus, Denmark. The program includes events both for Russian-speaking and Danish public, Severny blagovest site has reported.
On December 14, the Days will be opened in a solemn ceremony and an exhibition of icons will be presented. Olga Daniliuk (violin) and Galina Jacobson (piano) will give a recital of classical music by Chaikovsky, Prokofyev, Shostakovish and Rakhmaninov. Prof. Bent Jensen, a well-known Danish historian, will give a lecture on Russian church history, giving a special attention to the restoration of unity within the National Russian Orthodox Church, which took place last May.
On December 15, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Parish of St. Nicholas the Wonder-worker in Orhus. After the service, Father Sergey Bondarev will take parishioners and guests on a tour of the icon exhibition. There will also be a concern of Russian folk music given by the Charm of Russia consort from St. Petersburg.
The Days will conclude with the showing of the Monastery film about the 82-year-old former Lutheran pastor Jorgen Vig who has adopted Orthodoxy and wishes to establish a Russian Orthodox monastery at his estate near Ordens.
The program has been organized in cooperation between the Lutheran Sct. Lukas Kirke, the St. Nicholas parish of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Danish-Russian House in Jutland Society in Orhus.
