Byelorussian President Lukashenko awarded Order of St. Vladimir

Byelorussian President Alexander Lukashenko is awarded with the Order of St. Vladimir. He was decorated on June 5, in Polotsk, by Metropolitan Filaret of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch for All Belarus. The award was given “in recognition of the aid rendered to the restoration of the silver shrine of St. Euphrosynia the Abbotess of Polotsk”.

Presenting President Lukashenko with the order, Metropolitan Filaret said: “You have made a tremendous contribution to the spiritual transfiguration of our homeland. These efforts of yours have been noticed by His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, and he rewarded them with the Order of St. Vladimir Equal-to-the-Apostles, First Degree”.
