Exhibition dedicated to 900th anniversary of hegumen Daniel’s pilgrimage to Holy Land being held at Andrei Rublev museum in Moscow

An exhibition ‘I saw it all with my own eyes…’ dedicated to the 900th anniversary of hegumen Daniel’s pilgrimage to the Holy Land was opened at the Central museum of Old Russian culture on 29 March 2007.
The opening ceremony was headed by bishop Mark of Yegorievsk – Vice-Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations.
G. Popov – principal of the museum greeted the people and thanked Ministry of culture, Department for External Church Relations, Moscow Patriarchate Pilgrimage Center and Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society for assistance in organizing and holding the exhibition.
Taking part in the celebration also were: G. Prokhorov from the Institute of Russian Culture, N. Lisovoy – Vice-Chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, S. Zhitenev – General Director of the Moscow Patriarchate Pilgrimage Center.
At the exhibition people can see icons, manuscripts and old printed books which tell about pilgrimages, pilgrims’ relics, maps from Moscow and Moscow region state and Church museums and from the largest Moscow libraries and private collections.
