His Holiness Patriarch Alexy offers up prayers for the repose of Russian diplomats killed in Iraq

His Holiness Patriarch Alexy celebrated the Divine liturgy in the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Moscow Kremlin and offered up his prayers for the repose of Russian diplomats killed in Iraq.

In his address to the worshippers after the service His Holiness Patriarch Alexy called them to remember all those who had established the faith in Christ in our Fatherland and taken spiritual care for the Russian people. Heeding our prayers, they are helping us to bear our cross in this life.

‘Let us live being guided by the will of God and strengthened by prayers and intercessions of Metropolitan Jonah of Moscow and All Russia, while feeling connected with our great history and also feeling inseparable spiritual bond with those who had accomplished deeds in the Russian land, affirmed Russian people in the Orthodox faith and helped them be patient along their way to salvation,’ the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church said.
