On 18 June 2006, the first meeting of the Orthodox youth club took place in the village of Dyemino, Stavropol Region.
Young parishioners of the Church of St. George decided to joint their efforts to preach the Word of God to young people of their age, to struggle against drug addiction and sectarianism, to work in the field of social ministry and to all this not only in word, but in deed.
Rector of the church Rev. Georgy Ugryumov opened the first meeting of the club, saying, ‘We We have gathered together to render help, to organize our leisure time, to serve the Church and the neighbours.’ ‘Our main objective is unity and mutual understanding, the priest underscored. – We consider our ministry as a continuation of our service to God. We ought to bring our possible contribution to the building up of society that will live by the Gospel truth, laws of morality, principles of honour, duty and love of one’s neighbour.’
Member of the club outlines plans for the immediate future.
