Nizhniy Novgorod will meet St. John the Baptist’s right hand with a cross-procession

The relic of St. John the Baptist brought to Russia from Montenegro will be taken on June 16 from Moscow to Nizhniy Novgorod.

The Nizhniy Novgorod diocesan administration informed the National News Agency that the shrine would be taken to the Cathedral of Our Saviour in Nizhniy Novgorod and then brought in a cross-procession to the Church of St. John the Baptist. The prayer march will walk through the city on June 18. Throughout the stay of the shrine in the city, the local clergy will offer up prayers with akathistos round the clock.

On June 19, the shrine will be taken from Nizhniy Novgorod to other cities in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
