Metropolitan Kirill attends the working group for cooperation with the Russian Orthodox Church under the Transvolga Region’s public council for developing the civil society

On May 29, 2006, the working group for cooperation with the Russian Orthodox Church under the Transvolga Region’s council for developing the civil society met in Moscow. It was chaired by A. Konovalov, presidential envoy for the Transvolga Region.

The Russian Orthodox Church was represented by Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations, Archbishop Sergiy of Samara and Syzran, and Archbishop Philaret of Penza and Kuznetsk.

Among the questions discussed were interaction between religious and secular education for the moral formation of children and youth, social work of the Russian Orthodox parishes and the Church’s missionary and publishing work.
