An Orthodox Church Demolished in Kosovo

Unidentified criminals demolished St Elijah the Prophet’s church in North Kosovo.

The church had been badly harmed by the NATO bombings in March 2004, but recently renovation was underway under the patronage of the Council of Europe. A new altar was built and new doors and windows constructed.

According to Kosovo and Metohija Radio, the criminals broke a newly set door and windows. Kosovo police appeared unable to give information on suspected organizers of the pogrom.
