On 19 April 2006, His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia met the head of the Russian state V.Putin in the presidential residence in Novo-Ogarevo.
The results of the World Russian People’s Councils were discussed among other things, such as preparation for the World Summit of religious leaders to be held in Moscow on 3-5 July 2006.
