Cupolas and crosses of the church of St. Catherine the Great Martyr being built in Rome are blessed

On 31 March 2006, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations and rector of St.Nicholas’ church in Rome Bishop Mark of Yegorievsk blessed the cupolas and crosses of the church of St. Catherine the Great Martyr being built in Rome. Taking part in the Office of the Blessing were clergymen of St. Nicholas’ church heiromonk Filipp (Vasiltsev) and priest Alexey Baikov. The St. Nicholas’ church choir conducted by Yekaterina Vilpo was singing during the Office.

Present at the Office were Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Italy A.Yu.Meshkov, trade representative of Russia to Italy S.I.Ivanov, representative of the Roman Catholic Church R.Boccardo, donators and members of the Orthodox parish in Rome.

The Office being performed and the cupolas and crosses installed, Bishop Mark congratulated all those present on the important event in the life of the Russian Orthodox community in Rome.
