A chapel consecrated at a Cossack village hospital

A chapel dedicated to the Holy Protomartyr and Healer Panteleimon was opened in a solemn ceremony and consecrated on March 24, 2006, at the hospital of the Staromaryevsky Cossack village near Stavropol.

The consecration was conducted by Father Oleg Draugyalis, rector of the village’s Church of the Protecting Veil. The opening of the chapel was approved by the hospital’s chief physician L. Babichenko.

‘At our restless time it is necessary that the medical staff of our hospital and the clergy should work together to guide the spiritual and physical recovery of our village people’, she said, ‘It is precisely for this purpose that the prayer room has been opened. The more so that all the hospital staff have been delighted at this event’. Present at the ceremony were all the doctors and nurses of the hospital and their patients.
