Services held in Biarritz, France, during the Adoration of the Cross Sunday

On March 26, 2006, the Sunday of the Adoration of the Cross, Hieromonk Nestor Sirotenko of the Korsun diocese celebrated the Divine Liturgy at a hall the parishioners arranged for the purpose near Biarritz.

The service was held with great spiritual elevated. It was attended by 50 people. There are altogether 60 Orthodox people living around in the Biarritz neighborhood.

Members of the Parish of the Protecting Veil, who lost their church after a minority of the parish did not agree to the decision of the parish council to return to the fold of the Russian Orthodox Church and lodged a complain against this decision, have shown their desire to continue building the life of the community despite all its difficulties.

Father Nestor responded saying that the Mother Church would not abandon her children and no civil administrative decision would prevent her from taking pastoral care of her flock wherever they may be.
