His Holiness Patriarch Alexy meets President N.V.Fyodorov of Chuvashia

On 23 March 2006, His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia met with the President N.V. Fyodorov of the Chuvash Republic in the patriarchal working residence in Chisty pereulok in Moscow.

They discussed the revival of church life in the Republic.

N.V. Fyodorov informed His Holiness the Patriarch that 2006 had been declared the Year of Religious Education in the region. The programme of events would include church and public celebration of the 60^th anniversary of the Cheboksary diocese and the 75^th birthday of Metropolitan Varnava of Chuvashia and Cheboksary.

The President of Chuvashia also told the Patriarch about the construction of the church of St.Tatiana the Martyr in Cheboksary.
