An Orthodox church is opened in the North-West district of the Ministry of Internal Affairs troops

A centre of culture and education consisting of a museum, library, conference hall, a room for the veterans of the district and the restored church of the Transfiguration of the Lord was opened in St.Petersburg, the North-West district of the Ministry of Internal Affairs troops. Its press service told a ‘Regnum’ news agency correspondent that the barracks of the Transfiguration Life-Guards Regiment and prayer rooms for the officers had been located on the site of the centre in the 19^th century.
