Construction of the largest Orthodox church in Byelorussian capital continues

Construction of the cathedral dedicated to the ‘Joy to All the Afflicted’ icon of the Mother of God – the largest Orthodox church in the Byelorussian capital Minsk continues. Construction works at a great height were suspended last winter because of bleak weather. However, the welding of steel framework for two lesser cupolas have not been stopped on the ground.

Assembling of the framework and manufacturing of casing for the central large cupola began on 17 March 2006. When it gets warmer, the constructors will start concreting all the three piles. Casing for the cupolas is planned for this year.
