Orthodox chapel to be built at the central recruiting center in Kaliningrad region

Such an agreement was reached during the meeting of Bishop Seraphim of Baltijsk, vicar of the Diocese of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, with major general A. Ponomarev, commissioner of the Kaliningrad Region on 14 March 2006.

A proper place for the chapel will be chosen soon. A priest will be attached to the chapel to conduct all necessary divine services and sacraments.

Orthodox clergymen participate almost in all call-ups in the Kaliningrad Region. Diocesan priests work practically at all enlistment offices.

Clergymen have an opportunity to communicate with servicemen in military units. The Department for Relations with Armed Forces and Law-Enforcement Agencies works in the Diocese.
