Servicemen in Mari intend to ask Orthodox Church for support in their struggle against violations of army regulations

Participants in the regular annual assembly of the 27^th Missile Army held in Mari-El decided to ask the Church for help in their struggle against violations of army regulations. Officers, involved in educational work in the units, discussed various questions, but the problem of army discipline became the most topical issue after recent events at the Chelyabinsk Tank College. They concluded it was impossible to solve the problem of violations in the army only through disciplinary punishments. Officers decided to turn to the Church for help.

The Kiev-Gitomir Missile Division housed in Mari-El has cooperated with the Diocese of Mari for a long time. The church is opened in a regiment; other regiments have prayer rooms. Every unit has a priest who meets and talks to servicemen regularly.
