The Bolshoi Theatre gives a charitable concert to support the building of the Cathedral of St. Michael in Arkhangelsk

On 5 February 2006, ballet dancers and opera singers from the Bolshoi Theatre gave a charitable concert in Arkhangelsk philharmonic society to support the building of the Cathedral of St. Michael. The event was held in the frameworks of the 10th anniversary of the Diocese of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogory.

Numerous residents and guests of the city, both clerics and laymen, came to the concert.

Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk, Chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, took the floor before the concert. He conveyed primatial greeting of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy to the residents of Arkhangelsk and congratulated Bishop Tikhon of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogory on the 10th anniversary of his consecration and name day. He handed Bishop Tikhon a high award from Patriarch Alexy II – order of St. Seraphim of Sarov (2nd class).
